During this program, visitors can get to know (with a guide) the rural houses of Hajdúböszörmény and the last Hajdú (Hungarian herdsmen) Folk House of Hajdú-Bihar county, which faithfully represents the most important elements of the XVIII-XIX. century’s rural architecture. During the program our guests can taste Hungarian patties fried in a furnace, and take part in hand craft activities. The program starts with carriage riding.
During our historical tour we will get to know the most important cultural attractions of our main square and our hajdú roots (Bocskai statue, Hajdúsági Museum, City Hall – Báthory room, Dancing Hungarian herdsmen statuettes).
Those who are interested may participate in a special temple tour. The program upon request start Sunday morning at 9 o’clock from the Reformed temple on the Bocskai square, where after the Sunday service we will view our organ that had been recently renovated, and which is the product of the world renowned Angster company, furthermore in our country it is one of the biggest organs on the countryside. The next station on our tour is the Reformed temple on the Kálvin square, where we are going to see the temple’s bell exhibition. During our walk, we are going to get an insight into the catholic faith world as well by visiting Greek and Roman Catholic temples.
After a short train trip we are going to arrive from Hajdúböszörmény to Bodaszőlő, where the horse-drawn carriage is readily waiting for the guests. During the program you can participate in observing the wild animals of the forest, as well as in mycological and hunter presentations. During the carriage ride we are going to pass by the Middle age ruins of the Zeleméri temple, where we are going to hear about the legend of Katalin Boda. The last station of the carriage ride will be the Bungalow of Bodaszőlő, where delicious slambuc is waiting for the group.
The hiking will start with a short train trip. Traveling from Hajdúböszörmény to Zelemér, we are going to view a memorial with middle age origins, the Csonkatorony, which stands on an artificial heap from the neolith age. Continuing our tour through the woods, following the yellow trail marks, we are going to pass by the Gyöngyvirágos Natural Reservation, which is an extraordinary sight to see. The 10 km tour can be walked within 4-6 hours, and a guide can be requested if necessary
Find out about the wonderful bird life of Hortobágy’s North pastures and its natural heritages! Trained tour guides and interpreters will help you, so that you can get to know as much sights as possible in Hungary’s number 1 natural park’s visitable i. e. puffer areas, during this half a day jeep excursion.
